The Opportunity We're seeking a strategic Marketing Manager to drive our marketing efforts and fuel our rapid growth. This is a high-impact role where you'll own the entire customer journey from initial awareness through to subscription conversion, working directly with our CEO and alongside our Head of Growth and Director of Operations in a fast-paced scale-up environment. You'll be the architect of our email marketing and organic social media strategies, focusing on the unique challenge of converting free users to premium subscribers in a market where traditional marketing playbooks don't apply. In time, you will also support our ambassador programme, D2C offering and manage an agency in China. This really is a role for someone skilled and looking to grow. What You'll Do Strategic Leadership • Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing and organic social media strategies • Design and optimise conversion funnels for our freemium-to-premium model • Create data-driven campaigns that resonate with our diverse, global audience • Lead rapid experimentation and iteration based on performance insights Campaign Execution • Manage sophisticated email marketing campaigns including welcome sequences, nurture flows, and retention programs • Build and grow our organic social media presence across multiple platforms • Develop compelling content that speaks to the unique motivations of IELTS test takers • Implement advanced segmentation and personalization strategies Growth & Optimisation • Partner closely with our Head of Growth to align external and on-platform marketing efforts • Analyse user behaviour and conversion data to identify optimisation opportunities • A/B test messaging, creative, and campaign strategies across all channels • Interpret data and report directly to leadership on campaign performance and strategic recommendations What You Bring Essential Experience • 3-5 years of marketing experience with proven success in subscription-based businesses (SaaS, media, or app subscriptions) • Deep expertise in email marketing platforms and automation workflows • Strong track record in organic social media marketing and community building • Experience with freemium conversion optimization and user lifecycle marketing Strategic Mindset • Analytical thinker who can develop original strategies, not just execute existing playbooks • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid experimentation in non-traditional markets • Data-driven approach to campaign optimisation and performance measurement Personal Qualities • Self-motivated and thrives in autonomous, high-responsibility environments • Excellent communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership • Passionate about education and making a meaningful impact on people's lives • Adaptable and excited by the challenges of a fast-growing scale-up
