Senior QA Engineer

Location: Remote (Europe)

Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 (depending on experience)

Role Summary

• Own and elevate the quality, reliability, and scalability of software products
• Define testing strategies and build robust automation frameworks
• Embed quality across the full software development lifecycle
• Work closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams in a cloud-native SaaS environment

Key Responsibilities

• Define, plan, and execute comprehensive test strategies for new and existing features
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and performance testing
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to define acceptance criteria and ensure strong test coverage
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Perform manual exploratory testing for complex workflows and edge cases
• Conduct API, UI, performance, and security testing using modern tools and frameworks
• Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects and quality risks through to resolution
• Continuously improve QA processes, tooling, and automation practices
• Produce and communicate quality metrics such as test coverage, defect trends, and automation rates
• Stay up to date with QA best practices, tools, and emerging testing approaches

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years’ experience in a Quality Assurance or Software Testing role
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman or RestAssured
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Locust
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across distributed teams
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
• Experience testing cloud-native and SaaS applications

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of security testing tools and practices
• Experience working in compliance-driven environments such as ISO, SOC2, or GDPR
• Exposure to AI or ML-based application testing or model validation
